İsmail Kartal resigns, Dirk Kuyt takes interim charge at Fenerbahçe
İsmail Kartal told the Fenerbahçe board on 27 October 2026 that he was stepping down after the Galatasaray derby defeat; the club accepted and notified KAP. On 28 October the club appointed Dirk Kuyt as the first team's interim technical lead until a new head coach is named.

In a public announcement on 28 October 2026 the club said that, following Kartal's resignation, Dirk Kuyt will be in charge of the first team until a new head coach is appointed. According to Hürriyet, Kuyt was part of Kartal's staff.
